Born on 31 January, 1956 in Moscow.
In her youth, she took great interest in archery, became a master of the sport, and competed on the city’s youth team.
In 1974, after graduating from high school, she tried out for the lead role in Rodion Nakhapetov's film “To the Edge of the Earth” and was accepted. The movie subsequently won a prize at the Ljubljana film festival. She was the best actress of 1986, according to a poll in the journal “Soviet Screen” (for the film “Marry the Captain”).
