Plyatt Rostislav

Plyatt Rostislav

Plyatt always came to rehearsal with a big briefcase. While a different scene was going on, he would pull out a sheet of paper and study something or other. I was convinced that that “something" had nothing to do with my rehearsal. He was probably studying the text of his next radio program. I was ready to get angry if I didn’t see that he had prepared for my rehearsal to perfection. I don’t know – maybe, in his own turn, he got ready for my rehearsal while on some film set. What difference is it to me, in the end? And one more surprising characteristic. Actors like Platt have absolutely no actorly self-importance, in the negative sense of the word. Instead, there’s a remarkable efficiency.
